First edition, one of 700 copies, signed and dated in the year of publication. Snowdon Blue presents a selection of portraits from throughout Snowdon's career. If a shoot was not going to plan Snowdon would often suggest that his sitter try changing into a blue shirt, of which he kept a number for such occasions. 'The blue shirt is anonymous and yet kind of a uniform,' he says. 'It is like a simple backdrop that leaves us to focus on the sitter’s face without being distracted'. The book accompanied Acne's collection of blue shirts which were inspired by those worn by Snowdon's subjects. Those photographed include Yves Saint Laurent, Joe Tilson, and Alan Bennet who are shown below, as well as Serge Gainsbourg, Manolo Blahnik, Peter Blake, Jacques Henri Lartigue, Graham Greene, Agatha Christie, and David Bowie to name but a few.
