(Brighton): Photoworks, (2010).

4to (257 x 210 mm), pp.[22] inc. one folding. 10 colour photographs. Design by Stephanie Nash, Anthony Michael and Nigel Shafran. Colour photo-illustrated saddle-stapled wrappers, white, text in black. Near-fine.

First edition of 750 copies, published to accompany an exhibition at Charleston in Sussex, the country retreat of the Bloomsbury artist group. Nigel Shafran first came to prominence in the late 1980s with his new approach to fashion photography, working for a number for magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, The Face, and i-D in the early 1990s before starting to shift his attention away from just fashion work, and began making series that explore themes of domesticity. These include RuthBook (1992-1995), Dad's Office (1996-1998), Washing Up (2000), and the present work which focuses on a small purple bowl on his sink at home that is used to collect organic matter on its way to the compost heap.
