A PROVOCATIVE AND TAUNTING PAMPHLET MASQUERADING AS A COMPETITION PROSPECTUS

(BAY OF PIGS).
Concurso Internacional Para La Ereccion De Un Monumento A La Victoria Playa Giron. International Competition for the Erection of a Monument to the Victory of Playa Giron.
[Havana]: (Seccion Cubana De La Union Internacional De Arquitectos, [ca.1962].

4to (205 × 224 mm), pp.[14]. 7 black-and-white photographs printed in crude offset, unattributed text in English. Saddle-stapled oversized printed wrappers; creasing and wear to sides and edges, pen mark and toning to lower side. A good copy.

First edition of this provocative and taunting pamphlet which masquerades as a competition prospectus complete with technical and climatic data. The photographs show captured anti-Castro forces and their weaponry, sunken landing craft and downed planes. 'Playa Giron' is better known internationally as the Bay of Pigs, the location of a badly conceived and executed invasion attempt by CIA-sponsored Cuban exiles and their comrades in La Causa. Commercially and institutionally rare with no copies in OCLC.
