Oblong 8vo, pp.[viii], 8, [65], 73–78, [2]. 51 black-and-white photographs. Black cloth-covered boards, spine and upper side lettered in white; lightly marked, lightly sunned at foot of spine. Black-and-white photo-illustrated dust-jacket; lightly rubbed, wear to edges, small chip to head of spine, light creasing to foot, small chips to corners, light crease to top edge of rear panel. Near-fine in an excellent dust-jacket.

First edition. These photographs were taken on the streets of Harlem and the Lower East Side in the late 1930s and 1940s. The project remained unpublished until the present edition.
