First edition. To Camp 4 Kiriko... is the last of four scarce and sought after books self-published by Kawahito in 1972. Each incorporates lyrics from artists such as the Beatles and Frank Zappa in the title or in the credits. In this instance, the title is taken from John Lennon’s lyrics for the song Mother which appears on his album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (1970).

In 1968, after studying at the Japanese School of Photography in Osaka, he joined the advertising agency Light Publicity Company, leaving in 1971 to work as a freelance photographer and cameraman on advertising campaigns and editorial assignments.
