Hackney Flowers.
[London]: Nobody [self-published] and Archive of Modern Conflict, (2007).

4to (287 x 220 mm), pp.[96] with 18pp of a smaller size bound in. Colour photographs. Black endpapers. Grey cloth-covered boards screenprinted in orange. Press release and publisher’s card laid in. Fine.

First edition. ‘The pictures in this book were formed out of my longstanding interest in east London.
In my studio I arranged plants, flowers, seeds and other ephemera I’d been collecting in Hackney Wick and elsewhere in the Hackney area, and photographed them against other photographs that I’d made and found in the same vicinity. I also buried some of the base pictures in Hackney Wick, allowing the place itself to imprint upon the images through decay or markings. Interspersed with these I have placed portraits of members of the public in Hackney’.
