8vo (219 × 168 mm), pp.[56]. 23 black-and-white photographs printed in collotype on rectos only. Plain endpapers. Beige cloth-covered boards, front lettered in dark brown; corners lightly tapped. Signed by Kertesz in black ink and numbered in pencil on limitation page. Thomas Walther's presentation inscription in black ink on title-page. Former owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Near-fine.

First edition of 1,000 numbered copies signed by Kertesz. This copy inscribed by Thomas Walther: 'Berlin, den 10.12.88 / Dein frischgebackenen / Ehepaar Ludewig / glück und segen / für den gemeinsamen / lebensweg! / Herrlich / Thomas Walther'. This catalogue was issued to accompany an exhibition of Kertesz's modernist photographs, made in Paris between 1925-1929. Several of the prints in the exhibition were lent by Walther from his collection.
