SIEBER, Oliver.
Imaginary Club.
(Dusseldorf): (Boehmkobayashi / GwinZegal), (2013).

4to (270 × 210 mm), pp.[432]. Colour and black-and-white photographs. Colour photo-illustrated wrappers affixed to rear only, as issued; corners of spine lightly tapped, light wear. This copy lacking the two black elastic bands. Near fine.

First edition of 500 copies. Imaginary Club is the result of Oliver Sieber’s long-term project documenting various representatives from diverse youth scenes and sub-cultures including teddy boys, punks, goths, rockabilly, cosplayers, and club kids, in cities including New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Osaka, and Toronto. Sieber found himself drawn to these people who each seek to define their identity through coding in their clothes and personal styling. ‘Imaginary Club represents a society in which I myself would love to live,’ he states. ‘A world where different forms of life co-exist effortlessly is something I find very appealing.’
