Pillsbury’s presentation inscription in black ink on title-page. Gallery blindstamp to front free endpaper.

First edition, an association copy inscribed to Michael Hoppen: ‘To Michael / Thanks for your support / & encouragement from / these first pictures / through those made in / London - / [signed] Matthew’.

In 2007 Pillsbury was awarded the Fondation HSBC photography award. His work characteristically uses long exposures made with a large-format camera and natural light. Many of the photographs in this book feature television, computer, or display screens, which give off the only light source in each of the pictures, it also includes work made in natural history museums and other attractions.

Pillsbury had solo exhibitions at Michael Hoppen Gallery in 2005 and 2007.
