First edition. ‘Rambow has been one of Germany’s leading graphic designers for more than three decades. Despite its bright, bold cover, however, this book is more about the sex than the design. It contains two photo-series, each taking up about half the volume. The first consists of photographs of prone naked women with their legs spread - softcore pornography for West Germany at that time, hardcore pornography for most other countries. The second series consists of extreme close-ups of female genitalia, so close that they are semi-abstract - almost, but not quite making the crossover into full abstraction’ (The Photobook).
