First edition. Greater Atlanta is the third book in Steinmetz’s South trilogy, focusing on the social landscape, all three were shot in America’s southern states. ‘Steinmetz could be described as a photographer’s photographer, pulling off a very difficult trick. Totally unshowy, he photographs with a lack of rhetoric that is almost rhetorical in itself, making the art of photography look both easy and awkward at the same time, and in doing so creating pictures that would seem to have a rare authenticity’ (Badger).
